A titan on the move
Located in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Hubbard Glacier is a titan on the move. From its source on Mt. Logan in Canada's Kluane National Park, Hubbard Glacier stretches 76 miles to Disenchantment Bay and is the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska.
With an open calving face that measures more than six-miles wide dwarfing the ms Rotterdam, Hubbard Glacier has icy towers that stand over 400 feet high and sends icebergs the size of small buildings into the bay, making this glacier reliable for glacial calving viewing.
Nicknamed the "Galloping Glacier," Hubbard Glacier, nestled among some of the highest mountain peaks in North America, including Mt. St. Elias and Mount Logan, has a headline-making history, which you'll learn about onboard from a park ranger and Tlingit interpreter while cruising past this giant.
